Good Shepherd Catholic School

Our History

Good Shepherd Catholic School opened its doors in January 1996 with an enrolment of 81 students in Year levels from Preschool to Year 3.

The school is constructed on ten (10) hectares of land purchased in 1993 - well before much of the housing appeared in the area.  While the original master plan was for a two-stream school, population growth in the area along with increasing demand for places within the school, have led to the plans being revised to accommodate a three-stream school.  In the future, as enrolment grows and a need is established, the school will grow to a Prep to Year 12 school with the addition of a secondary school.

Good Shepherd Catholic School is part of the constantly developing Upper Ross area of Townsville. The school is located only a few kilometres from Willows Shoppingtown as well as the cultural, sports, leisure, residential and commercial activities of Riverway. Bikeways running along tree-lined river banks connect the public access areas of Ross River.  Good Shepherd Catholic School is located on Allambie Lane, the border between the suburbs of Rasmussen and Kelso.

The school is within easy walking distance of the Upper Ross PCYC facilities as well as a supermarket and other community services.
